Management of Emissions to Air from the Oil and Gas Sector in Africa, Asia, and Latin America

Project description
Carbon Limits supported the Norwegian Environment Agency in assisting partner government institutions in select countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America to improve management of their energy resources, in particular, management of emissions to air from the oil and gas sector. The work included support in preparing and delivering a 5-day workshop in Norway for Ugandan institutions on management and monitoring of emissions from oil and gas exploration and production. It also entailed delivering on-demand technical advisory services to support selected countries (Colombia, Uganda, Ghana, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania, Nepal, and Malawi) in establishing efficiency and effective procedures and regulations that aim at reducing emissions to air from the oil and gas sector. The focus of the work was on emissions from gas flaring and direct methane emissions, as both of them represent resource waste and can be significantly reduced from a technological perspective and often provide economic benefits.
