Training description

This module guides participants through the process of interpreting methane satellite detections and identifying likely emission sources.

Content: Participants will learn a structured methodology for moving from a satellite detection to a probable source, including sector identification, equipment attribution, and analysis of emission characteristics such as emission rate, frequency, and timing of detections. Using practical examples from oil and gas sector, the module demonstrates how satellite imagery and contextual information can be combined to support source investigation. The module emphasizes that satellite analysis provides a starting point for root-cause assessment and that collaboration with operators and ground-based verification remains essential for confirming emission sources and planning corrective actions.

Format: This training can be delivered in-person or virtually.
