Project description

KPO, a private oil and gas company in Kazakhstan, prepared to submit its first OGMP 2.0 report in 2024. The Oil and Gas Methane Partnership framework requires standardised quantification methodologies for emission sources. Reporting readiness depended on technical clarity and internal capacity.

Carbon Limits conducts a workshop for KPO experts on quantification methodologies applicable to emission sources under the OGMP framework. The team provides practical guidance on report preparation and delivers an implementation plan. The work applies to upstream oil and gas operations in Kazakhstan, enabling compliance with OGMP 2.0 reporting requirements. The workshop and implementation plan strengthen KPO's capacity to quantify methane emissions and prepare credible reports. The guidance operationalises OGMP methodologies for first-time reporters.

This work is relevant for oil and gas operators preparing OGMP 2.0 submissions, particularly in Central Asia and emerging methane reporting contexts.
