Project description
Accurate and harmonised carbon accounting is essential for scaling carbon capture and storage (CCS) and engineered carbon removals (ECR). This report reviews current frameworks for carbon accounting and reporting, analysing how CCS and ECR activities are tracked at national, corporate, and project levels. As CCS projects grow in scale and complexity, often spanning multiple actors and jurisdictions, robust accounting ensures transparency, supports credible carbon markets, and builds stakeholder confidence.
