Understanding Methane Emissions Variability and Uncertainty

Training description
This training examines the factors that make methane emissions difficult to quantify and manage.
Content: The module explores emissions variability, uncertainty in measurement and inventory development, and the influence of infrequent high-emitting events on overall emissions estimates. Through practical exercises, participants investigate how measurement data can be used to estimate annual emissions, how sampling strategies influence results, and how these factors affect methane emissions reporting and management.
Format: In person
Who is this for: Designed for both technical and non-technical professionals, the training aims to build methane expertise and strengthen a global community of practitioners working to reduce emissions.
This activity forms part of Carbon Limits’ Methane Camp but can also be delivered as a standalone training.
