Training description

Taking a carbon credit project from concept to issued and authorized credits involves many steps, actors and approvals, and each one affects cost and timing.

Content: This training provides a practical introduction to the Article 6 activity cycle. It covers the full journey from idea note and project design through validation, registration, monitoring, verification, issuance and transfer.

Designed for project developers, investors and buyers, the training explains how the requirements of Article 6.2 and the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism (Article 6.4) differ. It clarifies the difference between host-country approval and authorization, and what happens after credits are transferred. Drawing on real project roadmaps, it shows typical timelines and development costs, and how authorization can add time and uncertainty.

Learning outcome: By the end of the training, participants will understand each stage of the cycle, anticipate key risks and bottlenecks, and plan projects more realistically.

Who is this for: Project developers, investors and buyers

Format: This training is available in-person or virtual.
