Rakib holds a B.Sc. in Petroleum and Mining Engineering from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Bangladesh. His academic research focused on the environmental and health impacts of gas blowout, highlighting the broader environmental risks associated with energy development. Combined with his early experience in the gas field, this sparked a strong interest in climate and environmental issues related to the energy sector. He currently works on projects aimed at reducing emissions and environmental impacts from oil and gas operations.

Outside work, Rakib enjoys exploring nature, languages, and cultures through travel, films, documentaries, and reading. Growing up in Bangladesh and working in an international environment has given him a broad perspective that he brings to his work and collaborations.
