Project description

The purpose of the workshop was to bring together participants from the two main ministries (Ministry of Oil and Ministry of Health and Environment) responsible for collecting data relevant for environmental assessment, and provide practical training on how GHG emissions should be calculated. GHG accounting for the oil and gas sector covered both calculation of emissions for the purpose of national inventory and for mitigation projects. More broadly the objective was to help Iraq integrate climate change considerations with other measures to ensure sustainable development of the petroleum sector.

Carbon Limits is responsible for preparation of technical training materials for the workshop, including presentations, training models and supporting reference documents. In addition, Carbon Limits delivers the training and participates in moderation of the workshop to stimulate active participation and improve learning outcomes.
