Validation and Registration of the NL+ Kalundborg CO2 Hub
Project description
Carbon Limits is working with Perspectives GMbH in preparation of the project design documents required for the validation and registration under VCS of the Kalundborg CO2 Hub (NL+) project. The main purpose of the NL+ is to capture and store carbon dioxide (CO2) generated from the production of bioenergy at the Asnæs and Avedøre Bioenergy combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants in Denmark. The project aims to connect all parts of a carbon capture and storage (CCS) value chain to achieve durable carbon dioxide removals (>thousands of years permanence) and will be the first biomass energy carbon capture and storage (BECCS) project implemented under the CCS methodology developed by the CCS+ initiative and Verra.
Service provided:
- Development of project design documentation (PDD)
- Capacity building and knowledge sharing about the project and opportunities for BECCS-derived CDR
- Stakeholder consultation(s)
- Support during the validation and registration process
