Project description

In 2023, Carbon Limits developed a gap analysis tool to assess the difference between projected and observed greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the Norwegian agricultural sector. The tool quantifies the contribution of implemented mitigation measures and helps identify any remaining gap between emission reduction targets and projected outcomes.

In 2026, Carbon Limits was commissioned to update the tool with the latest activity data, emission estimates, and mitigation measure information. The update enabled the Norwegian Environment Agency to track progress over time, evaluate the effectiveness of implemented measures, and assess whether the agricultural sector remains on track to achieve its emission reduction objectives.
