SPAR6C Assessment of Colombian independent crediting mechanisms and methodologies for Article 6.2

Carbon Limits led the assessment of three Colombian crediting mechanisms and five methodologies in the light of Article 6.2 requirements based on a custom-designed evaluation framework rooted in ICVCM’s Core Carbon Principles, conducted stakeholder consultations to verify findings and address information gaps and delivered recommendations for regulatory development and good practice guidance on approving crediting mechanisms and methodologies for Article 6.2 transactions in Colombia.
- Development of a custom-designed evaluation framework rooted in ICVCM’s Core Carbon Principles to assess independent crediting mechanisms and methodologies against Article 6.2 requirements
- Conduct assessments of 3 independent crediting mechanisms (Cercarbono, BioCarbon Registry and COLCX) and 5 methodologies in the AFOLU, renewable energy and waste management sectors
- Conduct stakeholder consultations to verify findings and address information gaps
- Review and summarize technical, social, and environmental concerns raised by investigative sources (investigative journalism, civil society, and academic studies, and judicial review) with respect to projects registered under the three crediting mechanisms
- Deliver recommendations for regulatory development and good practice guidance on approving crediting mechanisms and methodologies for Article 6.2 transactions in Colombia
