SPAR6C Article 6 Governance Frameworks in Action: A collection of case studies from 6 host countries
Project description
The project involved developing a comprehensive comparative analysis of host country approaches to Article 6 implementation under the Paris Agreement. As countries advance at different levels of institutional readiness and practical application, they have adopted various strategies to manage risks, identify opportunities, meet Article 6 requirements, and establish regulatory and institutional arrangements. The study compiled case studies of six frontrunner countries, assessing government decisions related to Article 6 strategies, institutional structures, administrative procedures, fees and shares of proceeds, registry systems, authorization processes, and reporting requirements. The work contributes to the SPAR6C Article 6 toolbox, supporting host countries and activity developers seeking insights into how peers are designing Article 6 systems.
