Project description

This project supports the Government of Malaysia in developing a national carbon market registry as part of the Partnership for Market Implementation (PMI) initiative. The registry will enable Malaysia to participate in domestic and international carbon markets, including under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. The assignment involves assessing Malaysia’s needs, designing registry functionality, reviewing existing infrastructure and platforms, and providing recommendations for implementation. The registry will facilitate greenhouse gas (GHG) data management, support carbon pricing instruments, and ensure compliance with international standards for transparency and reporting.
