Partnership for Market Implementation - Malaysia Registry Development

Project description
National carbon market registries are essential for Article 6 participation under the Paris Agreement. Many countries lack digital infrastructure to track carbon assets and ensure transparency compliance.
Carbon Limits assesses registry needs for Malaysia, designs functionality, reviews existing platforms, and recommends implementation pathways. The work supports the Government of Malaysia through the Partnership for Market Implementation (PMI) to establish infrastructure for domestic and international carbon markets. The registry enables GHG data management, carbon pricing instrument support, and compliance with international transparency standards.
This is relevant for national governments establishing Article 6 infrastructure, development banks supporting market readiness, and regulators operationalizing carbon pricing.
