OGMP 2.0 Gold Standard Gap Analysis and readiness assessment

Project description
The Oil and Gas Methane Partnership (OGMP) 2.0 Gold Standard requires direct measurement, detailed methodologies, and methane emissions reduction targets. Many oil and gas companies lack clarity on implementation costs and operational changes needed. This creates uncertainty around membership decisions and resource planning.
Carbon Limits conducts gap analysis and roadmap development to clarify OGMP 2.0 requirements against current reporting practices. The work quantifies human resource needs, costs, and operational adjustments through Excel-based modeling and preliminary implementation planning.
For a large private oil and gas producer, Carbon Limits mapped existing emissions quantification practices compared to Gold Standard requirements, enabling the company to assess membership feasibility with resource and cost transparency. The analysis clarifies what operational and reporting changes are necessary, de-risking the decision to pursue methane transparency leadership and presents a clear step-by-step approach are needed to reach it. In addition, a cost analysis was performed to provide a clearer way forward.
