Project description

The assignment supports Bangladesh in developing the key building blocks required for Article 6 participation and national carbon market readiness. Core components include:

• Reviewing a national carbon market framework, including strategy, institutional arrangements, and regulatory requirements.
• Developed operational manual for the implementation of national carbon market framework. 
• Recommendations for an emission‑reduction registry system, including needs assessment, functional and technical specifications, and piloting.
• Design and piloting of a national MRV (Monitoring, Reporting and Verification) system aligned with international requirements.
• Capacity‑building activities, including training for government and private sector stakeholders, communication materials, and a study tour.
