Project description

The project supports the World Bank and the Government of Guinea in updating Guinea’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) for submission to the UNFCCC. The World Bank has been involved in Guinea’s climate agenda for several years, including strengthening institutions, defining national commitments, planning implementation, and supporting climate investments. The update (NDC 3.0) focuses on providing technical support for:

• Updated baseline scenarios for key sectors (mining, forestry, agriculture, energy/electricity, transport, waste).
• Analysis and recommendations for sectoral options to reduce emissions.
• Creation of a preliminary framework for monitoring, reporting, and evaluating progress on NDC commitments.
