New European sustainability reporting standards created compliance gaps in existing GHG inventory tools. Many organizations lacked systems to meet ESRS and CSRD requirements while maintaining GHG Protocol alignment. Dual Scope 2 reporting, biogenic emissions tracking, and investee differentiation became mandatory but were not operationalized in legacy tools.

Carbon Limits updates a GHG inventory tool to align with ESRS, CSRD, and GHG Protocol requirements. The work introduces location-based and market-based Scope 2 calculations, separates biogenic CO₂ emissions, and differentiates consolidated entities from investees.

The tool now enables organizations to report cloud computing and data center emissions, improving Scope 3 transparency. New emission factors for additional services are integrated, and the methodology report is revised to reflect all updates.

The updated tool operationalizes compliance with European reporting mandates and strengthens data quality for strategic planning. Organizations can now produce auditable inventories that meet current regulatory standards and anticipate future disclosure requirements.
