Development of guidelines for onshore methane quantification

Project description
Carbon Limits developed guidelines for operators of onshore facilities to quantify and report their emissions in a transparent and standardized manner. The project team identified different emission sources for onshore facilities and the existing quantification methods for these sources. The quantification methods were assessed for their uncertainty of the methods, and the suitability of any alternative methods was evaluated, including new/future measurement methods/techniques that have been tested and/or are under testing or development. Recommendations on the most appropriate quantification methods for each of the identified emission sources were then prepared, forming the basis for the formulation of proposals for guidelines for the determination and reporting of emissions of methane and NMVOC from onshore petroleum facilities.
