Taipower company was planning a carbon capture pilot project on its Taichung plant. The objective of the project was to conduct a financial feasibility study on this pilot project including the following aspects:

• Estimation of the CAPEX / OPEX of the capture pilot
• Perform a net present value calculation of the pilot considering various scenarios
• Evaluate the risks and uncertainties

Carbon Limits performed a literature review of the costs and estimated the CAPEX / OPEX of the envisaged pilot plant. Considering various scenarios, Carbon Limits evaluated the cash flows and calculated a present value of costs of this pilot project along with the risks and uncertainties associated with this cost estimation.
