Project description

Carbon Limits conducted a technical assessment of the Coal to Clean Credit Initiative (CCCI) methodology, developed by RMI and the Rockefeller Foundation, to evaluate its alignment with the Energy Transition Accelerator (ETA), the Paris Agreement Credit Mechanism (PACM), CORSIA, and the ICVCM Core Carbon Principles (CCPs). The assignment was commissioned by the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES), with Carbon Limits leading the review in collaboration with the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI). The assessment covered key integrity aspects, including baseline setting, additionality, leakage, GHG quantification, sustainable development, and just transition, and provided expertise on how the methodology aligns with high-integrity crediting frameworks.
