Project description
Carbon Limits conducted carbon footprint assessments of various biogas value chains in accordance with the EU RED II methodology. Biogas is more climate-friendly than traditional fossil fuels, significantly reducing emissions compared to diesel. According to RED II, transport biofuels must achieve a GHG saving of at least 65% to be classified as renewable, while biofuels used for electricity, heating, and cooling must achieve a GHG saving of 80% compared to a reference fuel (diesel).
