This module explores the role of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in the global energy system and examines the methane emissions that occur throughout the LNG value chain, from liquefaction and storage to shipping, import terminals, and regasification. Participants will gain an understanding of how LNG is produced and transported, the key sources of methane and greenhouse gas emissions associated with LNG operations, and the mitigation strategies available to reduce emissions from activities such as leakages, venting, flaring, boil-off gas management, and energy generation. The course also reviews emerging market trends, policy developments, and certification initiatives that are driving efforts to reduce the emissions intensity of LNG.

Course consists of pre-recorded sessions on an online platform followed by a live session with methane experts from Carbon Limits. Indicated available languages are applicable to pre-recorded modules. Live sessions can be delivered online or in-person in English, Arabic, French, Russian, and Spanish.
