Training description

Why is coal mine methane becoming a growing priority for governments, regulators, investors, and mining companies worldwide? This module explores the climate impact of methane emissions from coal mining, including methane's powerful warming effect, the contribution of coal mines to global methane emissions, and the significant opportunity for emissions reductions. Participants will discover why coal mine methane represents one of the fastest and most cost-effective opportunities for near-term climate action, with more than half of global emissions potentially abated using existing technologies.
