The project consisted of preparation and contribution to a three days workshop to be held in Doha, Qatar from 4th to 6th October 2009. The workshop was part of a Work Plan agreed between the State of Qatar and the World Bank lead Global Gas Flaring Reduction Partnership (GGFR) in facilitating efforts to use currently flare gas by promoting effective regulatory frameworks and tackling constrains on gas utilization. Carbon Limits’ role was to assist in raising awareness and knowledge of the opportunities to leverage carbon finance (i.e. Clean Development Mechanism, CDM) within the oil and gas sector in Qatar, and as a result help initiate efforts to encourage the implementation of flaring reduction projects. Specifically Carbon Limits was responsible for all preparation and for presentation of the carbon related session held during the second day of the workshop.
