There are no clear guidelines regarding CO2 stream composition specifications along CCUS value chains. To focus their R&D works on the appropriate CO2 stream compositions and impacts, TOTAL and EQUINOR have asked Carbon Limits to perform an overview of the potential impurities that could be present in a CO2 stream based on a set of actual composition at the outlet of capture units on different CO2 sources, and an overview of their potential impacts on CCUS value chains. This work consisted of literature reviews, targeted interviews and several workshops to discuss the findings.
